Food Blogs

July 19th, 2008 by jay

There are over 20,000 food blogs in the U.S. alone and this corner of the Internet is growing fast (see WSJ article). It makes sense that food is a hugely popular blog topic. After all, food resonates deeply with many people, whether it’s restaurant reviews, recipes or special needs (e.g., vegan, gluten-free, Kosher). The Food Network has also proven the entertainment value of food media, elevating to celebrity status both chefs and recreational cooks with engaging personalities.

One topic we hope gets more blog and media coverage is the story behind food makers. Similar to a glowing blog review that convinces people to try a new/different restaurant, we think that blogs can really shine the light on amazing food products made by passionate folks.

As we build Foodoro, we’re thinking about how to connect not only consumers and food makers, but also the food bloggers who rave about their favorite products and makers. Stay tuned…
