We’ve noticed that the most popular food blogs tend to have the tastiest photographs. There is even a somewhat salacious term for this. While we can’t really dictate what makes a great shot or not, users we’ve talked to tend to like both packaging photos as well as photos of the product itself. Macro shots that give a sense of the exquisite details are popular.

We’re designing much of our website to center visually around photographs. After all, people do eat with their eyes first!
